Hi, I'm Ang Hall!
I am the owner and operator of Meadow Farm Florals, a small scale, high intensity flower farm in the heart of Alberta, Canada. In addition to being a flower farmer myself, I am also the founder and facilitator of Grow Together - a unique, collaborative course and club which will walk you through how to grow cut flowers at home while being supported by a like minded community.
Here is what I know to be true. Growing flowers is life changing. At least it has been for me, and I believe it can be for you too. I also know that if you've never grown cut flowers, it can be a big learning curve compared to growing veggies or if you are a total gardening newbie.
I have teamed up with a group of experienced Canadian growers and together we will be presenting you 8 modules that will set you up for a season of success in your home cut flower garden.

Partner Growers
Kathy and David Lowther of Petal & Pollen
Kathy and David Lowther co-owners of Petal & Pollen have partnered with Grow Together and will be growing members planter packs in the Calgary/Crossfield/Cochrane area. If you live in their region, you can expect to connect with them to receive your Planter's Pack. We are extremely proud to announce that Kathy and David received the ‘2021 Outstanding New Vendor of the Year’ Award by the Alberta Farmers’ Market Association (AFMA) during their 2022 annual conference in March.
After raising their family in Crossfield, Alberta and early retirement from varied careers in agriculture and information technology, in 2020 they turned their love of NATURE and 30-year PASSION for propagating plants (including native Alberta wildflowers & grasses from seed) into their business Petal & Pollen, offering seasonal field-grown specialty cut flowers and small-batch pure raw honey.
Their experience growing native Alberta plants has helped them appreciate the importance all flowers in the garden, fields and wild landscapes are to native pollinators and honey bees alike.
If you live in their area, and even if you don't, visit them at local Farmers’ Markets in Crossfield, Cochrane, and Airdrie and Calgary pop-ups throughout the spring, summer and fall. They bring buckets and buckets of their freshly cut flowers and love nothing better than to whip up custom bouquets on-the-spot! And when available, they tuck in their native wildflowers and grasses too!
Petal & Pollen offer:
- prairie-inspired hand-tied bouquets from our field-grown flowers
- buckets of flowers for your DIY projects
- flower subscriptions throughout the growing season
- florals for small weddings and events with that ‘just-picked-from-the-meadow’ feel
- seasonal small-batch pure, raw honey and occasionally, comb honey.

FAQ's Answered
What if I have no experience growing anything?
Then this program is designed for you! Grow Together is perfect for all gardening skill levels. Together we will rejoice in our success and support one another through our failures while we Grow Together!
How much space do I need?
20 square feet is MORE than ample. If you want to intersperse other plants within your Planter's Pack seedlings, or give them extra space for aesthetics, you are more the welcome to, but 20 square feet is enough to grow all 30 seedlings.
If you don't have enough space in the ground, you can supplement with container gardening. We have included a lesson from Kristen Raney of Shifting Roots on how to properly grow cut flowers in these small spaces.
When and where do I pick up my Planter's Pack?
The exact time and dates will be TBA but pick up in Red Deer will likely be the week of May 23rd with pick ups in Airdrie, Crossfield, and Cochrane being the first week of June.
What if I don't live close enough to pick up a Planter's Pack or I grow my own seedlings?
We are offering a partial membership at a reduced price for this exact reason. This membership option gives you all the benefits of the full membership minus the Planters Pack.
What seedling will be included?
This is subject to change but we are anticipating that the pack will include some of the following:
- Snapdragon
- Scabiosa
- African Marigold
- Zinnia (giant and regular)
- Ornamental Kale
- Strawflower
- Rudbeckia
- Statice
- Dianthus
- Foxglove
- Feverfew
- Amaranth
- Craspedia
How long is the program?
Members who decide to opt in to the online private chat group will be registered in early May. The first video is set to release May 1st and members will have access to it at that time. Modules will be released throughout the course of the season at which point you will maintain permanent access to all the lessons and the online chat group will stay available for as long as people choose to stay registered in it.
